  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup chopped vegetables of your choice (carrots, bell peppers, etc.)

Method

Momos:
  1. Combine the flour, water, and salt in a mixing bowl. Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  2. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until they become translucent.
  4. Add the garlic and ginger and sauté for another minute.

  10. Place the momos in a steamer and steam for 10-12 minutes, until they are cooked through.
  11. Remove from the steamer and set aside.
Soup:
  1. Heat the oil in a soup pot over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until they become translucent.
  2. Add the garlic and ginger and sauté for another minute.
  3. Add the cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well and cook for another minute.
  4. Add the broth and vegetables. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Add the momos to the soup and simmer for another 5-7 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
  7. Serve hot with some chopped cilantro on top.
